Yellowstone Adventure -18
Our last day on the Madison corridor, the two weeks went just way too fast. It was -18 when we entered the park but clear skies. No fog means no hoar frost so I didn’t know what we would find. We checked for the last time the Bobcat haunt, nothing. Checked the Mtn Lion haunt, nothing. We drove for quite a while and no elk, no swans, no otters, it was darn quiet. Then we come around the corner and there we found 90min of cool, fun photography.
Only one of the half dozen Bison had any frost on him, so that’s who I followed with my lens. A couple of the elk had frost on them, so I would work them for a short time. This yearling kept an eye on us the whole time, at least until mom stood up and the kitchen was open.
And then we had this pair of Trumpeter Swans that cruised by. Life is good! I just wish I had more energy to write more, but I feel like I’ve burnt through the candle.
