The Giant Softbox
Planes like this B-25 that are all “chromed” as just giant mirrors reflecting back whatever they see. On a blue sky day, it helps them blend in which is good for avoiding bad guys. On cloudy days, they are moving murals of beauty and on overcast days, they look like just what they are, big silver birds. So I was quite happy when I saw this one all by itself on the grass. Finally, an easy snap. I like those when they come my way!
Yeap, I wanted a B&W of this scene and it turned out just like I wanted. My only disappointment was it was on the side of an active runway and I could get out front to take a slightly better angle of it. I did learn that a straight side on view isn’t the best for the B-25 so that’s tucked away in the back of my head for next time. The B&W finishing was a simple click in ACR.
