Nikon NC Filters |

Have you ever had a Bald Eagle crap on your gear? I have, and that’s why I always have a filter on the front of all my lenses. For a long time, I used a Nikon A2 (81a) filter. I stopped using the A2 a couple of years back, just a personal preference. I now use the more expensive clear glass filter Nikon makes, the NC. It does a great job of keeping life’s little messes off my front elements. For all of my days shooting film and for the first couple of years with digital, I shot using a 81a filter. It was such an important part of my photography I even invented the Moose Filter, a polarizer/81a combo filter. I stopped using the 81a a couple of years back when black & white photography came back into my life. It was a simple, personal choice (as all photography decisions should be made) that I didn’t like what the 81a was doing to my B&Ws so I simple stopped using it. |
