Nikon D200 |

The D200 has lots of pluses for my photography. Its small package, well built and its top end performance is obvious when you first pick it up. Its 5fps speed and buffer is quite remarkable considering how small the camera is. The files it produces are darn clean. Being small, most subjects don’t give it a second thought when you put it up to you eye and aim it at them. The vast majority of the time, the 28f1.4AF is mounted to the D200. If the D200 has one drawback, it’s its 95% viewfinder. That means that what you see in the viewfinder is not all that you’re capturing. You will see it all in big, beautiful monitor on the back of the camera, but that doesn’t help you when you’re looking through the viewfinder. Now taking a moment of two to “recompose” in the viewfinder to take this into consideration can be a plus or minus. Plus if you have the time to spare, minus if you don’t. The other drawback is the battery. It simply has no life so I always have a spare. Those looking for my D200 settings, you can find them here. |
