Gitzo 3540XLS TripodGitzo 3540XLS is a great tripod! I didn't hesitate for a moment dropping the dime to buy it once, once I tried the new G Lock System I was sold. Why? Have you ever been focused on a great subject and you needed to raise the height of the tripod? You start to twist one of the leg locks, not really looking because you're watching the subject. You loosen it only to find it's the wrong one and now more than one leg is either loose or they are all too tight to deal with. You struggle with the tripod only to miss the shot. Well my friends, those days are GONE with the G Lock system!

Furthermore, the G Lock system permits us to have sturdier tripods while weighing less. Even better is the fact that the locks are better sealed, you more than likely won't have that grinding feeling anymore in your locks. I haven't even mentioned that the new G Locks only take a 1/4 turn to loosen or tighten and you CAN'T over tighten them.

I've had them in every environment you can imagine and they held not only their own, but the gear I entrusted to them. The 1348 tripod that the 3540XLS is replacing is an original prototype I've been using since 1995. The only reason it's been replaced is because there is a better model, not that it needed replacing. The last place you can cheap out is on your tripod.
Gitzo carbon fibers will last you your shooting career!
