RavesMy Light Kit packed in a moosepeterson mp-1 pack. I use this bag for home storage and find it easy and useful for organizing the gear. I can easily grab and go when travelling by car. It does have backpack style straps for convenience but this is not a wear-it-while-hiking-through-the-woods type of bag... (read more)
Moose I got your email from Kevin Dobler we live very close to each other. I bought one of your MP-1 bags I don't shoot much wildlife but shoot mostly sports college and professional football basketball races baseball, etc. I really like my bag I cover alot of breaking news as well and need to pull out my cameras in a big hurry sometimes so I travel with my 400mm f 2.8 with the hood attached and a camera on at all times I have always used a long lens bag but then had to carry two bags and a laptop when going to games now I can carry everything in one bag and just a laptop extra. After trying some of the rolling cases I always had to reverse the lens hood on the 400 and I always hated doing that especially with Nikons poor lens hood design for the 400 and now I can leave it attached and still carry everything. I usually put the bag on a luggage cart and pull it in instead of the backpack but it will be great when I fly, I have only had it just over a week and it works great so far. I had someone call me and say they didn't like theirs and ask me what I thought I told them it was just what I was looking for in a long lensebag and I loved mine. Thanks again for the great design.
I just wanted to compliment you on your OUTSTANDING MP-1 bag design!!! I just nabbed one and wanted to let you know how great I think it is -- and all this from a Canon shooter! (I jumped ship a year and a half ago when I went digital -- long story.) Anyway, I will be posting reviews of your bag on a few of the Canon sites since many of them have never heard of you or visited your site. Jack Flesher
I got my bag today. Nice job on the bag, got all my equipment into it with a little room to spare. This has freed up two bags and now I can select which ones to take with me in a smaller bag when I go for longer hikes and walks. Taylor Maxwell
BTW, your MP-1 is the only carry-on pack I've found that fits the 300-800 Sigma lens (without camera attached), and all the rest of my carry on photo gear to boot (D2H, D1X, 70-200, 24-85, 12-24, SB800, 2 TCs, battery packs, etc)! Great design!! We will be ordering another one (Karen confiscated mine)! John Woodard
Gary Shackelford I've been meaning to thank you profusely for the camera bag. It worked great on the Antarctica trip. I was able to cary almost all my gear in the bag--including 35mm and video, filters, flash, chargers, and much extra stuff. In a second hand-carry I put all my film and a couple of extra lenses for back-up. Everything else for 5 weeks fit in 2 medium duffles that were mostly bulky stuff. I think both carry-ons were heavier than the duffles. Once we got settled on the boat, we pared down to a more reasonable load for shore excursions. The large pouches worked really well for keeping things ready and ease of getting them out quick. Instead of the padded separators, I carried towels to pad around lenses and bodies. They served double duty by always being handy to dry things off from mist and spray--even penguin poop. I have just returned from over a month in South Africa (working for South Africa Air and on a new book on Africa) and using the MP-1 all the way. After using and having a closet full of photo type backpacks, I must say that YOU ARE RIGHT! The MP-1 is Great. It fit nicely in the overhead of South Africa air (business class section) and then fit all of the smaller intra area flights used to get from Joeberg to Kruger and back to Cape Town. It did take a while, to get use to the color, but after working with it in and out of my vehicle, it was great and does not show the dirt. The bag does in fact get better the more you use it, and all equipment now has its own space. Thanks for creating such a great bag. Gary I. Rothstein "Just wanted to let you know that I packed my MP-1 last night. Amazing, I was able to pack in my pro digital SLR + 3 big lenses; my 4x5 +3 lenses; all the filters, and accessories that are needed into the pack. I can even pick it up as it weighs only 25 lbs. So far, I think it's the best thing since sliced bread and Starbuck's coffee!! I will probably be wanting one of the other smaller packs for another trip overseas with less gear. Thanks again for getting the pack to me so quickly." Jackie Stoken |
