TC-14e & TC-17e

The TC-14e and TC-17e are essential gear in my camera bag! The 1 & 1.5 stop of light loss (respectively) is a small price for the subject isolation they provide. Narrowing the angle of view of the lens they are attached to permits me to work the background to its optimum. The change in the effective f/stop and loss of DOF creates even greater subject isolation which just means, the subject visually pops.

I’ve not found ANY loss of image quality using either of this teleconverters. Both permit full AF operation even in low light levels. I carry both but of late, I tend to use the 17e more then the 14e. The 17e is a 1.7x and the 14e is a 1.4x.
