Slide Filing System

Many ask how I organize my image library. It’s really simple, it’s gotta be for my brain to grasp it. You can click here and see the basic system I set up when I first started in business in 1981. Many photographers use it because copyright is based on name as well as image number. Hope this...

Pocketwizard MiniTT1 Nikon

Got a great tool for my latest project that I wanted to share with ya. The Pocketwizard MiniTT1 along with FlexTT5 and PocketWizard AC3 ZoneController really extends the capabilities of Nikon’s CLS system. I’m using these pretty cool units not to extend the range of the iTTL a great distance but rather to “see around corners” and so far they’ve lived up to my expectations. I’m still in the “testing” phase, testing not only the units but the entire set up for the...

And Within Minutes It Closed In

This movie requires Flash Player 9 The winds built up pretty fast and brought the storm in and over pretty darn fast. That means it will go through the are quickly. It also means photos opps will be short and sweet. This movie requires Flash Player 9 So as the last holes in the clouds closed up, I dashed to capture those beams coming down on the landscape. I say dashed when actually I just drove quickly. Because all the photos in this post and the last were taken from the seat of the truck. I never even got out to shoot, just rolled down the window. New Storm – New Clicks

With 12′ in the front meadow, a new storm rolls into the area. After chores are done prior to the 24hrs blow we headed out with the camera to take in the front. Weather as moves through the light always plays on the Sierra and the B&W photos are just about everywhere you turn. This movie requires Flash Player 9 You can actually see the front’s leading edge here, pretty dramatic. They are predicting 2-3 feet in 24hrs from this storm and then minus zero temps. Just the way I like it. This movie requires Flash Player 9 What you can’t see are the winds which at this point are mild and just signal a storm coming in. They’re forecasting gusts up to 100mph and that’s not so good. That makes all this gorgeous snow into a rel hazard for those who don’t stay inside where it’s safe. It will be a crazy day, can’t wait!
