Lockheed Electra 12A captured by Z 9 / Z24-70f2.8 II
I’ve seen and been with Les’s Electra a number of times, but this was the first I had the opportunity to have the plane by itself on a ramp. She is gorgeous! A refinement of the 10 (which Amelai flew around the world in), about 130 of the 12a were manufactured starting in 1936. Of those, only 10 are flying worldwide. She was parked next to a hangar, which was a great bounce light in the predawn light. The camera was perched on the Benro Tortoise 0 with the Z24-70f2.8 II at 70MM so as to be true to the wing design. White balance set to 6000k and then I waited for the light. The easy click gave me time to stare, wonder and be enthralled by this amazing piece of history. And wonder out loud, Amelia?
