NM Fall Color captured by Z 8 / Z24-70f2.8II
A year ago, I got home in time to see our local fall color, gone! I swore I wasn’t going to go another year not spending fall in my own backyard, taking in the glorious color. Last year was a grand fall color year in the Bitterroot, lasting weeks and lighting up with incredible grandeur. I blocked out the calendar for fall 2026 to be home, I wasn’t going to miss it again. Two weeks ago, the color started, and it was looking nice. I lined up an A2A with the perfect aircraft for a colorful background. I’d scouted the locals for land-based image making. I was all set, and then, heat wave. NOOOOOOO!!!! Ten days of heat turned all the leaves, brown! Then we had the rain/snow/wing storm for three days, leaving us with, twigs. Argh!! I’m heartbroken, all those images in my mind still reside there. dang nappit! Well, missed that one!
