Grumman produced some amazing seaplanes during the war, each with a bird name and each filling a particular role in service. This was my first time to do an air to air with a Duck (and not my last) and it was better then the months of planning and anticipation.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.moosepeterson.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/DPA2AF2J60561.jpg?resize=585%2C474&#038;quality=100\" alt=\"\" title=\"DPA2AF2J60561\" width=\"585\" height=\"474\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20491\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Even when you&#8217;re in the air, bringing in the pilot into the photo is a must. That was a little bit of a challenge with the Duck because of the wires from its construction. This one is close, you look at the still in the video posted yesterday, you&#8217;ll see the good one. Kermit seems to love flying his Duck, he smiled alot flying it.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.moosepeterson.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/05\/DPA2AF2J60822.jpg?resize=585%2C474&#038;quality=100\" alt=\"\" title=\"DPA2AF2J60822\" width=\"585\" height=\"474\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-20493\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">And then there is the light. You can see for yourself the difference in the light and its effect on the Duck looking at the first and last photo. While we only had 20min with the Duck, it was the last 5-7min that the light got real sweat. Of course as the light fell so did the shutter speed. It went from 1\/100 down to 1\/20 in that short amount of time. I spent nowhere near as much time with the Duck as I would have liked, not nearly enough glass on it but it made me grateful for what I got and hungering for more.
