We photographers at times think we work in a vacuum when actually, no matter the genre, we never do. It’s just at times we recognize it and others, ignore it. I’ve come to realize after these decades that when we always recognize it, photography comes easier and rewards more frequent. That village that supports us starts at home, the spouse who puts up with our silliness, our passion and at the right moment, supports it. There are those folks at the camera store and manufactures who, though we don’t always recognize their help, actually do add to the success. Then there are the more obvious.<\/p>\n

The biologists and scientist I’ve worked with for four decades I have always cited as the essential element and reason for my success in my wildlife photography. These side by side colleagues who guide me to this day instilled in my more than just basic biology, but lessons that effect our entire business. And now they’ve been joined by the plane owners and pilots we so enjoy working with in our aviation photography. Just like biologists, their influence goes way beyond the click! The most dramatic way is in the air to air photographs I love to share! This staging of the Battle of Darwin required a whole crew that started prior to the shoot and lasted weeks later. They are so important to that click I get to share with you!<\/p>\n

Then there are your photographic partners. Some my call them friends but those that help your photography are more then friends, they are partners. I’m fortunate to have many, our son Jake<\/a> who does a great job pushing dad! Then there is Kevin<\/a> whose friendship and adventures together behind the camera over the decades they sing song about. Another is Joe Glyda<\/a> who, besides being such a great photographer, has a huge heart and gigantic sense of humor! Joe is a great example of that photographic partner, pushing you to get that shot you might not otherwise get at times taking the hit and stepping back so you can get that shot. And then when you get that shot, take those photos which capture the memory that otherwise would be filed in the back of the mind. Ya, there is only one eye pressed up against that viewfinder, one heart pumping the passion, but the food that keeps that all going, well that takes a village!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
