That meant we were out and had a great time! As you can see, it was dark, light on the flat side. My bud <a href=\"http:\/\/www.chasingthelight.com\/blog\/\" target=\"_blank\">Kevin<\/a> should me his results yesterday shooting the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/1214152-REG\/nikon_1557_d5_dslr_camera_body.html\/BI\/8449\/KBID\/9350\/kw\/NID5XQD\/DFF\/d10-v2-t1-xNID5XQD\" target=\"_blank\">D5<\/a> in Auto-area AF and I really didn&#8217;t believe him so shot it myself today. Blown away! As you can see, there are TONS of targets for the AF system to lock onto. Time and time again though, it locked on the grouse producing wickedly sharp photos. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/1214152-REG\/nikon_1557_d5_dslr_camera_body.html\/BI\/8449\/KBID\/9350\/kw\/NID5XQD\/DFF\/d10-v2-t1-xNID5XQD\" target=\"_blank\">D5<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/918849-REG\/nikon_2205_af_s_nikkor_800mm_f_5_6e.html\/BI\/8449\/KBID\/9350\/kw\/NI80056\/DFF\/d10-v2-t1-xNI80056\" target=\"_blank\">800mm<\/a>, ISO 800, 1\/250 and there is grass between the subject and the sensor and the D5 locked right on! Bloody hell! The D5 even displays the AF sensors it is using, visually confirming where it is focusing. Never seen this performance before in a Nikon AF system.
