It was an absolutely great time with great birds! We wanted to see for ourselves how the birds would bounce back from the hurricanes and it was great to see them, perhaps more than 2017, in the locales we love. I&#8217;ve posted a small <a href=\"https:\/\/moosepeterson.myportfolio.com\/florida-birds-feb-18\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">portfolio<\/a> of my images, only 35 of the 4k I came back with. I&#8217;ll post my new all-time favorite at some later time. All these shots were taken with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/1214152-REG\/nikon_1557_d5_dslr_camera_body.html\/BI\/8449\/KBID\/9350\/kw\/NID5XQD\/DFF\/d10-v2-t1-xNID5XQD\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">D5<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bhphotovideo.com\/c\/product\/918849-REG\/nikon_2205_af_s_nikkor_800mm_f_5_6e.html\/BI\/8449\/KBID\/9350\/kw\/NI80056\/DFF\/d10-v2-t1-xNI80056\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">800mm<\/a> and at times with it&#8217;s matched 1.25x. <\/p>\n<p>I was delighted to see North Beach, Ft DeSoto back to how it was a decade ago! Lots and lots of waders and now it has it&#8217;s own &#8220;barrier island&#8221; that the shorebirds cover. The rookeries like Venice were quite active which was great to see. We even spent time on the eastside going to Orlando Wetlands for the first time (thanks, Jason) which was outstanding! We finished with my taking Sharon to Circle B Ranch which she hadn&#8217;t bird before.
