You could think of this as one massive critique, a crit of my and YOUR images? What went wrong that we can learn and correct at the point of capture? What can’t we improve at point of captured but can in post? What do you need to know from post to make the click better? Hell, what about light? Here it is plain and simple, I want to help folks with their photography and the vehicle we’re going to use in this class is Photoshop to help improve your captures! Did you know you can use Curves in Photoshop to learn about Exposure Compensation in the camera? If not, then you might wanna attend. If you want to learn this an a whole lot more, we have two openings in our upcoming class and a couple in our fall class. The camera and the computer, they go hand in hand and knowledge of both is so important I feel to get what you see and feel reaching the heartstrings you’re sharing your photography with. And that’s the end game to all of this, grabbing heartstrings.

The power of an image always amazes me, especially how it effects so many so differently. Many think you have to be a “pro” to have this power, the power of your photography effecting others. While you might think this is a little bit of a over kill for my point, just take a look at this retrospective The Atlantic is posting. The subject matter in some cases is very intense, but the photographers and their equipment are as simplistic as photography can make it. Yet the impact of their images, they way they hit you, there is no mistaking that. And added to that, it’s history. I’m just thinking out loud here, but perhaps there is a whole lot of power in your photographs and you just don’t recognize it yet.

You know, I could tell you about this feature or that feature of the book. I could tell you about how I learned this or that which I didn’t know. But the bottomline is real simple. The iPad is a money maker for the smart photographer. It is a total work machine and simply the #1 method to show off your photography. So, you wanna make money? Then you take great images, you buy a iPad and load them on there and then you buy Alan’s MOST EXCELLENT book and make that iPad make you money. It’s that simple!

I am a 14 year old nature (and now aviation) photographer from Danbury, CT. I want to say thank you for the great inspiration you provide on your blog and warbirdimages website. Ever since I started reading your blog posts about your plane images, I started to get interested in aviation photography, and now have a deep connection to it. I recently had the opportunity to photograph a gorgeous Stearman on the tarmac of my local airport. I kept in my mind the techniques you have provided on your blog. I came out with a pretty nice image that really means something to me. I have started networking with the pilots, and hope to get the opportunity to do an Air2Air photo shoot with the Stearman.
