Just prior to heading to Costa Rica, the loaner 1 Nikon 70-300 arrived. I did a quick post because I was instantly impressed by the small size and huge quality. Well we went off to Costa Rica and I put the 70-300 into Sharon’s hands to shoot. Sharon is a very good shooter and has a rock solid shooting technique. With her shooting the 70-300 which when zoomed out is the same as the 800mm I was shooting, we could easily see the results. She shot with her Nikon V2 and as you can see, the results are stunning! The critters you’re seeing here are:
Northern Jacana
Roadside Hawk
Northern Jacana
Golden-naped Woodpecker
White-faced Monkey
Three-toed Sloth
All of these photos were taken handheld. The Northern Jacana and White-faced Monkey were taken from the water shooting from a sea kayak. The Three-toed Sloth was shot overhead and is a mother with young. To say this lens is spectacular is an understatement. Sharon did a marvelous job as always and you can see, she had the right tools. For those wanting a light weight long lens and those who need this because life dictates it, this is THE lens for you!
