Photography for me is in large part is all about memories. While it’s sweet to have them safely tucked away in the heart and mind and filling the soul, the photograph seems to bring it all to life. But just not any image, the photograph itself needs to be as special as the memories for them to come back to life days and years later when we reflect back. And in making that come true, you’ve gotta fill the photo with all those elements that make the memory along with all those elements that make the photography worth sharing. It’s a great pursuit for the long weekend.
Sharon & I are very fortunate to have some marvelous dear friends who love to explore our world as much as us, looking for the novel, seeking the best and enjoying the rewards. There are lots of laughs along the way but it always seems that when the light is calling, we’re there all celebrating it together. It’s one of the great rewards of photography, seeking and bringing back that memory especially from the long weekend.
