Yeap, this is all I’ve got to show for the last five days of effort (thought about posting the camera misfire shot of my big toe but didn’t). Spring is just very late here in the Sierra and nesting birds are just now getting on nests. The one early bird, the Barn Swallow colony we like to photograph, they are way behind with their eggs just hatching and no one poking their heads out yet. So while Jake and I are up at 5am cruising and looking, walking and scoping, we’re coming back with no more than a great cup of coffee from Looney Bean. It’s just how it goes sometimes. It’s also why I like aviation photography, planes don’t have seasons.
