12 Seconds Erases a Century

Black Pool and I go back a long ways, the first photo I had published from Yellowstone was of Black Pool. Its deep, blue waters always suck me in and my lens pointing down at its boiling colors. I’ve always gone to the pool with a long lens like the Z70-200f2.8 because there is so much humanity surrounding it, it required a long lens to see just nature. There is massive boardwalks on 50% of its circumfrence and I just don’t want them in my photograph. Yesterday I decided I wanted turn back the clock of time. I want to see and remember Black Pool as it was once seen by Bridger or earlier. Well, we can and it takes just a heartbeat.

I took a two image pano which ACR assembled in a click for me. You can see that image below. Then I wanted that boardwalk removed. We have the tool now to do that just as quickly. I brought the pano into Photoshop, selected the boardwalk and with Generative Fill, 12 seconds erases a century!
