Not Bad for a Wildlife Guy
I’ve really enjoyed getting back with big flash, the Profoto B1 & B2. I didn’t ever think my new work would be noticed to this extent by Profoto. I’m very humbled and honored to be included with this group who really know how to make these lights shine. You have the opportunity, check out all of their work. You’ll learn and be inspired!
All Gone?
The box appears on power up … can’t read drive. Had that many times before and it never has been a big issue. Click on Disk Utility, click on the drive and then Repair and a minute later I would be up and running. Well Apple decided that for their protection that caused problems so in El Capitan you get the utility you see above, one that doesn’t work. No more repair, First Aid doesn’t function. You might say get DiskWarrior, no joy there either. So at this point, all my images from the last week are “locked” up in a drive I can’t access. The most common solution, return to Yosemite and abandoning El Cap. Oh, the joys of the computer at times.
Adobe Max – Amaaaazing!
I feel very honored and fortunate to be apart of Adobe Max! This is my first time to be at Max and to be here as a presenter brings special treats. One of the first is the Keynote which was two and a half hours of sheer mind blowing creativity and stimulation just seeing what Adobe is bringing to us. Creative Cloud is now fully synced and the sky is the limit. When the Keynote is posted, do yourself the favor and watch it! There are seven thousand folks here from 60 countries! All creatives and all I’ve meet, a lot of fun. So in that spirit, 110 folks joined my good friend Joe Glyda, 9 TAs, my dear friend Sara Woods from Nikon NPS and myself for an hour photowalk.
The whole walk was no more than a mile and it passed by some amazing subjects. One giant wall mural was really gorgeous and a walk stopper. In all the fun I was able to grab this click which tells its own story. We had walked just a couple of blocks further when the skies opened up and but to bed the notion, “It doesn’t rain in Southern California.” We had the best folks with us and they all took the down our in stride.
As you can see, even with the rain, there were lots of smiles. You might be wondering about the camera gear in the rain. My own personal thought is, if I can stand the rain, so can my camera. The key is to never, ever wipe your camera dry. You must blot it dry preventing water from being forced into crevices where it shouldn’t go. Blotting prevents this. Then once you get back in your room, put the gear that got wet (never have putting it in your camera bag) in a clean, dry towel and let it come to room temp before cleaning. Knock on wood, but never have had gear for down ever because of rain. Can’t thank folks enough for joining Joe and I and all the laughter at the table afterwards as we told the war stories as we dried.
