The winter months when it’s even more of a challenge to get out with the camera, cabin fever can set in. It happens to me at least and these are just some of the things I do to break the temperature.

Nikon announced at CES (and is demoing on the floor) an upcoming Firmware bringing Eye AF, RAW video, and CFexpress support. The video shows the power of the new Eye AF, Raw video is as its name suggests and really opens up that medium. CF Express uses the same form factor as an XQD card with the same speeds but eliminates the XQD. No drop date for the new firmware announced but signals that Z Family is just going to get better and better!
Nikon has announced the Z14-30f4 lens (released soon?). On the list of lenses coming out in 2019 at the Z Launch last August, it’s here now. What’s really, really, really cool is this lens accepts 82mm filters like a polarizer. It’s the first 14mm lens to do that. How cool is that! It is only 3.5″ at its shortest length making it incredibly compact. While I’ve not seen it, I’ve already contacted B&H to order one. mtc
