The Nikkor Z50f1.8is not your dad’s 50mm! It is in many stores today and already I have emails coming in. I have personally not shot with it but I have seen first-hand files taken with the lens and they are spectacular! I know, a 50mm, so many poopoo them but I still have them in my locker and was just shooting with a 50f1.4 yesterday. My 50mm is not even as sharp as the new Nikkor Z50f1.8 so you might wanna check it out!
Lexar has a huge promo on right now, some great savings. Click here to check them out. Yes, I still use strictly Lexar which includes XQD which at this time is not available. Yes, I’ve heard all that’s been said. What can I say, Lexar still works great for me and I trust all my images to them!
In this episode “Long Duplication”
Of all the focal length duplications we have in our bag, the long lens is the one the causes us the greatest consternation. Here’s how I’ve dealt with it over the years.

I’ve put together along with my good friends at B&H a Holiday Gift Ideas selection of items. The list includes what you might expect along with what you might not have ever thought of. Along the way, you’ll find some deals that you won’t find elsewhere. I hope it helps you help your favorite gift givers find the perfect present for your photography!
I’ll be talking photography, storytelling and putting the new Z7 / Z6 through their paces next month in Oklahoma! Nikon and Bedford Camera are hosting me for a two-day event at two of their locations. No, this is not a sales meeting! This is a storytelling, photography packed presentation incorporating the new mirrorless reinvented world and how it can take your photography to the next step. I’ll still be talking stills and video, light and lenses, locations and critters as well as aviation. Click on the banner above and join me, we’re going to have fun!!!!
Based out of Monterey, CA, this is a bird photography packed Adventure that would be a birder’s delight. The region boasts as many as 300 bird species, more than any other of our Adventures. What makes this trip a stand out is I’ll be taking folks out onto Monterey Bay on at least 1 Pelagic Bird trip. This is an eight-hour boat trip photographing birds that NEVER come to shore, shearwaters, albatross, petrels and much more that will truly test your planning and hand-holding abilities. It’s so much fun! And back on shore, we’ll have amazing shorebirds, waterfowl, and rails. Oh ya, there might be one lighthouse :-) This Adventure is open to six-shooters, dates 02-06 Sept 2019, the price is $2100 (price includes 1 Pelagic trip).
If you can join us, please give Sharon a call 661.204.1506 (M-F, 9-5). I hope you can!
