Screwy – Brilliant!

How can I not love a product that has my name all over it! Screwy it simply brilliant! No more looking for quarters in my pocket (which I never have) or digging through my camera bag for the “right” tool. This hand crafted “key” does one thing and does it perfectly, permits us to tighten those plates and other camera accessories tight, tight, tight. Heck, I had to use it on a clients camera just today! I just love it as it even has my name engraved on it … screwy!

Bedfords – Moose – Aviation!

Your are all invited to a fun evening talking planes and photography at the Fayetteville, AR Bedfords store 27 March, 2023! This is a live and in person presentation that will end when all of your questions are answered.

Photography is all about writing with light and this process takes on a whole new level with aircraft. Getting in the air with aircraft with your camera is the ultimate goal and getting there is easier than you think! Come with me as I take you into the skies and brief you on all you need to know for your aviation photography to take off. The essential such and camera gear and history, autofocus settings and exposure that we build upon are a must. But then we get into aircraft, working with statics building to ground to air and finally the air to air are the next steps. This all leads us to bringing motion to our still images, romance to pieces of steal and telling a story the grabs the attention of our viewers.

Please, join us for a great evening! Thanks Bedfords!

The Beauty of f1.2

The Paint Booth captured by Z 9 / Z50f1.2

It is not until you have that f1.2 lens in your kit and you work a story do you truly understand the power of, f/1.2! I have recently added the Z50f1.2 to the arsenal for an upcoming project and to get ready for it, I’ve been kinda married to it shooting stories were I thought f1.2 would be an asset. This past weekend it was the paint booth as the last lower wing was shot with color. Now spending the money for an f/1.2 only works if you shoot only at, f1.2 which is what I do. I use my feet as much as the focusing ring to make the photograph happen. Standing back, you see more of the wind in focus along with the painters. Getting closer, the painter really stands out in sharp focus enveloped in the enormity of the wing to be painted. Nikon just brought out the Z85f1.2 and the Z135f1.2 is on the roadmap. I guarantee I’ll be adding some more f1.2 to the kit. I can’t pass up on the beauty of f1.2!
