On our way back to our lodge tonight, Jake noticed to the east as we made a bend in the road the hillside a blaze. Brush fires scare me, had to fight one once and we live in a location where we take fire very seriously. So when I saw this, I cursed under my breath and wished the fire fighters going the other direction God’s speed.
Then the dilemma flashes by, the art in the disaster that is unfolding. Jake and I found a location quite a distance from the fire in a lot where we could shoot with our 200-400s. For an hour we watched and shot. The smoke was in many ways was like photographing a creek where it’s the patterns in the bubbles that make the blur so cool. So I ripped the shutter and came back with 800 images I’m still wading through. These are just a couple cool ones, there are more. I’m so happy to report that the fire was brought under control and no structures were lost. Simply put, fire fighters rock!
