I’ve highlighted those lenses on this list that I have and have shot on the D850. I had all those lenses prior to having the D850 and when I saw the list, it got me to thinking. Then I was asked today if you MUST shoot with these lenses to get the most out of the D850. To be completely honest with you, I don’t have that answer. I do know that in my own mind, these are some of Nikon’s finest glass and ones I recommend to folks. I have shot with an older 50f1.4 and 70-180 which are not on the list on the D850 and love those results. But are these lenses required to maximize the D850? My gut says no but for a fact, sorry I just don’t have that answer.

D850 gets a 100!
It really is a mighty fine camera, but it’s pretty cool that this has now been statistically proven, what I knew already. DXOMark just rated the D850 with its first 100 for a DSLR. Congrats Nikon!
