Oh Yeah, the Z Does the Job!

The photo above hit my inbox yesterday and was I shocked and totally blown away! A couple of months back, Nikon brought me into Precision Camera of Austin, TX to talk and do aviation photography. As you might imagine, I couldn’t say no and had a GREAT time! I hit it off with Phil, the owner, a really nice guy and passionate Nikon shooter. We started to talk about the Z and printing. I was telling him how gorgeous the prints were from the Z out of the Epson SC P7000 and I’d sent him some 24×30″ prints so he could see for yourself. Well, I guess you could say he liked them! You can see for yourself in fact how much he liked them. Phil created this killer (I’m very honored) “exhibit” at the store for you to check them out as well. I hope you drop and see the quality the Z and Epson SC P7000 produce cause you can do the same thing! Thanks, Phil!

Happy BDay Sadie!

Our best friend and soul companion Sadie turns fourteen today! We celebrated her birthday a day earlier going on a six-mile hike up to the snow, her favorite! Along the way, we scented a bear for a quarter mile, chased a squirrel and jumped into every creek she could find. Happy Birthday, Sadie … wishin you a whole lot more!

Moose Podcast #140 – “We’re Wired for Answers”

In this episode “We’re Wired for Answers”
We are actually wired in such a way that it can lead us to photographic frustration. I didn’t know that but it got me to thinking of possible answers to avoid it.

Australia Bird Adventure 2020!

O’Reilly’s is a world-renowned birding location nestled up in Lamington Nat’l Forest of Australia. Birding and bird photography is simply beyond words here where they literally eat out of your hand! It has an elevated boardwalk taking you and your camera up into the canopy! The lodging is grand and the whole experience, well, is just so marvelous we’re going back for our third Adventure! Come on and join us!

We’re going to be there on 06-13 Sept 2020. That’s seven days of gorgeous photography (it’s an 80-400 / 500mm / 180-400 kind of bird photography, not 600mm or 800mm) I’m taking only five shooters for the seven days. Non-shooting spouses can come at no extra cost (but can’t be a part of our adventures but there is a marvelous spa). Lodging is about $150 ($29 more for spouse) a night and the meal package is $89 a day (the bar is up in the trees!). The price for instruction, guides, transportation (once at Gold Coast) is $3995. One half non-refundable deposit required at time of registration.

If you’re interested in a once in a lifetime photograph experience, give Sharon a call (who is also going back for her third time) 760.924.8632 (9-5PDT M-F)

Moose Podcast #139 – “What Moves the Eye?”

In this episode “What Moves the Eye?”
Having a subject and exposure is just the start of the photograph. We must also take the viewer for a journey through our image to tell them our visual story. The question is though, what moves the eye?

Yellowstone Wolf & Big Game Photographic Workshop
Week #2 – 01-06 Nov, 2019

Yellowstone in fall is a spectacular wild treasure that sees few folks. The critters know that and come out to play, the wolf especially. While there are zero guarantees you’ll photograph them, exploring the vast Lamar Valley and more is our best bet to getting glass on this amazing creature. Wolves, grizzlies, bighorn sheep, pronghorn, coyote, badger and just a few of the targeted critters during our week! The first week filled instantly so we added a second week so act fast.

If you’d like to get an idea of the photos our wildlife photographic workshop produce, check out my critters workshop portfolios. I work very hard to not only share and inspire you with my decades of biological knowledge but use it to get you the photograph. Come join me and six other shooters for a great week in the beauty of Yellowstone! We’ll be based out of Livingston, MT (flying into Bozeman, MT) and for $1800, you’ll be picked up at the airport and taken back, preworkshop packet, instruction, entertainment, and guiding is all included in the price (food & lodging are not). If you’re up for the challange and want to hear for yourself the most amazing sound in nature, give Sharon a call 760.924.8632 (9-5PST). She’ll be happy to answer your questions and get your signed up. (1/2 deposit due upon registration). I look forward to shooting with you!

We are very excited to be ablt to offer All our Workshop / Adventure participants a full, one-year KelbyOne Pro Subscription (with paid registration starting July, 2018). This is being made possible by our dear friends at KelbyOne, which we are incredibly grateful for. This provides you to ALL of the KelbyOne Classes (and their discounts on other products) including Moose’s Classes.
