Truly the unsung hero of The Battle of Britain, the Hurricane is an incredible aircraft built at the right time to defend a nation. The HAC is a flying example of this fighter half wood and half medal. Stationed here on the Duxford field just like it would have been during the war, well was simply a bit of an overwhelming site!

My approach to photographing this iconic aircraft was pretty straight forward, lay down! Getting up a little bit of a challenge by once down, the photograph was pretty straight forward. One reason this worked so well was using the D5 / 24-70VR which provided some flexibility. The other was the incredibly clean backgrounds. So relating the tug or the great cloud was then a simple matter. After that, it was just the simple pleasure and honor of hanging with a Hurricane.
