Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Weather is the number one reason I have in my logbook for scrubbing a photo mission. There are many variables to wx that causes this, wind is the biggest. Believe it or not, snow is not even on the list and that’s because winter photo missions at the latitude we live at just don’t happen. So when I went looking for photo missions with snow, I had to turn to expert, expert pilots with an imagination and a sense of adventure. I’ve done four now and this was the most unique because the snow was actually falling during the mission. Wing icing is one of the many issues for smaller GA flyin through the white stuff. But when you fly the edge of the “storm” with a longer lens you can incorporate the snow without being in it. It’s that time of year again when I’ll be going after this kind of shot so I just say, let it snow, let it snow!
