Emigrant Peak captured by Z 8 / Z70-200f2.8
It was a spectacular sunrise! As soon as the full sun passed the horizon the color was gone like a preset was disconnected. And as soon as the color evaporated the clouds took on a new life, tonality, and prominence in the heavens. As quickly as I saw the swap out, I changed the Picture Control in the Z 8 to Dark Tone Monochrome and went click. The clouds drove the whole photograph, lens, Picture Control, and the finish (out of the camera with the addition of ProContrast in Nik). I would love to know just how many shades of black, gray, and white there are in those clouds. The clouds pushed the narrative.
