There is NO way I could do what I did at PRS without the Tarmac Posse. We decided to work this PRS differently this year, taking our time to make it our own. PRS is much too large an event to tackle on one’s own so I enlisted the help of good friends with some unique qualifications. Jake is on the left and he brings youth, new eyes and a wonder to the event. Next to him is Scottie, a really great guy and a new breed of test pilot who is my air to air flight safety and flight coordinator. Then there’s me, the dreamer. Next to me is Kevin (Fly Daddy) who besides being a really good aviation photographer comes with a plane, the A36 Bonanza that is our photo platform. There are a couple of things we have in common which made our time no only very successful, but one heck of a lot of fun. We all have a passion for aviation. We all have a passion for photography. And being able to share and communicate that made for an amazingly successful PRS experience.

And what was the Tarmac Posse doing when Martin told us to look at him? We were walking the tarmac as the unlimited and jet class were getting ready to launch. As you can see in both images, the light is hard afternoon light and as I’ve blogged before, I don’t run from that light. I don’t embrace it but I try to make the most from it I can. In this case, I grabbed three elements to make the photo. There is the Iskra Jet, Home Pylon and a Sports Class plane making a lap. Editorially the one click encompasses a number of aspects of PRS and the Reno Air Races, one of those aspects is the races are held during the day. As you can see, we’re packin our 200-400s on Sun Sniper straps and ready for the draw. Being media, we get to wear those fashion statement vests. Big hat, sun screen and the posse is on the move and making things happen. I want to thank Jake, Fly Daddy & Scottie for a great week! We got so much accomplished, had a ton of fun and best of all, made some great clicks!
