Where Do You Stand?

Shooting at eyelevel is a natural yet a majority of the time, not the best angle. For one, it’s how most see the world and by not shooting at this natural position you can get someone’s attention. But more importantly especially with aviation, surfaces change shape and form as you change your shooting position. Getting down for most is not the issue, it’s the dilemma how far (and for me, getting back up). Here are two examples of different elevations on the arse of a Waco 10. You can see graphically the change on the flight surfaces. The top one is graphically more impactful, the bottom image more faithful to the plane. Is one wrong or right? I don’t think so as I took both but I had the luxury of time and that’s the main point. We normally don’t have that luxury of time. This means you need to have a plan as you walk up to that subject, that aircraft. You need to keep it in your mind, where do you stand?
