I simply parked. There was one very good looking Laughing Gull, while the light on it wasn’t perfect, it was on the background and that’s what stopped me in my tracks. You watch any gull long enough and it will do something worth photographing. I watched this one individual for nearly an hour and it provided a number of great photo opps. Here are my favorite three.

It did require the eye being glued to the viewfinder but that’s OK, it was a gorgeous bird and very sweet. I thought I was going to strike gold when another Laughing Gull landed and after a brief courtship dance, copulation was just to begin. Just then a person walked by and that was the end of it. I was still rewarded for my time instilling in me that gulls are simply great subjects.
