Since the cloud wouldn’t play with me the way I wanted, I went and made do with what I had. Again, using lights and darks, I went vertical. I also went HDR for B&W, finished in color before going to B&W

One of the gang asked why I did HDR for this shot. My reasoning was simple, I wanted detail in the rock. With HDR, it was a solid black mass. It has so much character that I wanted that in the photo. To get that exposure info, I went HDR.
